IO / 01 JAN 2001 Cassini watched a moon disappear into shadow. The camera still recorded light. In the published movie, two emission bands are represented in red and blue. These are assigned display colours, not an ordinary colour photograph. Blue stays close to the surface. Red extends as high as 900 kilometres. The regions shift as Jupiter’s magnetic field changes orientation. PIA03450. Saved with the lights.
